Shear-free polysulfone (PSU) is a kind of aromatic non-crystalline high-performance thermoplastic industrial plastic containing sulfone group on the molecular main chain. Bisphenol A sodium salt is prepared from bisphenol A and concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. The generated water is distilled away by xylene. The temperature is 160 to remove water and prevent hydrolysis. This is the key to obtain high molecular weight polysulfone. Using dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent and inert gas protection, the sodium bisphenol and dichlorodiphenyl sulfone were subjected to nucleophilic substitution reaction to form polysulfone.
